2020 was a very different year, to say the least, but despite its challenges (and the overuse of the word unprecedented), there’s so much that we are thankful for! Indeed, it was this year that we came up with the idea of a Perfume Playground, and we’ve had an enormous amount of support since day one, and we couldn’t be more thankful. Equally, 2020 saw a whole host of epic new fragrances from our incredible brand partners from Perris Monte Carlo’s super crisp Lavande Romaine to rich and opulent Rouge Sâray from Atelier des Ors. So, in this spirit, our journal of 2021 is dedicated to all that’s new on Perfume Playground.

November and December were super exciting months here at Perfume Playground, not only were they filled with Christmas cheer, but we also saw, not one but two new launches from Masque Milano. First came Ray-Flection, an out of this world mimosa fragrance unlike any other. It starts fresh, with a subtle hint of spice from Jungle Essence™ Cardamom that together creates a radiant-cool winter sun feeling. After a couple of minutes, you’ll begin to notice the mimosa, which feels almost fluorescent gains added vibrance from honey-based solar rays accord that’s addictive. Together, this gives Ray-Flection a cosmic, otherworldly feeling that’s bright and cheerful like a ray of sunshine. (Ray-Flection is currently available for Pre-Order with delivery’s starting towards the end of January).

As if one new launch wasn’t enough, Masque Milano then unveiled the tantalisingly delicious Madeline: the brands first foray into gourmand fragrance and the 3rd addition to the La Donne Di MASQUE Collection. Madeline is a true masterpiece, marrying rich chocolate and delicious chestnut with sophisticated and breathtakingly elegant tuberose in a way that’s not overwhelmingly sugary but incredibly light and airy thanks to delicate milky notes of musk. Alongside Madeline, you can also find new 35ml’s of Petra and Dolceacqua as well as a trio of 15mls exclusively to us. 

Christmas came early at Perfume Playground, with two new brands launching just before Christmas Eve exclusively to us! From the Italian island of Sardinia comes the amazing Sandalia. This collection takes inspiration from the wealth of myths and folklore from Sardinian history and translates them into fragrances filled with magic and wonder. Their latest creation, Nixias, is inspired by the tales of the giants, it’s a mighty and assertive fragrance that’s also soft and tender. This exotic fusion of amber, cashmeran and oud is bold and imposing, however supple tones raspberry, musk and white amber add a gentile charm that’s truly captivating and full of intrigue, leaving behind a blend that is truly captivating and a must-try for all fragrance lovers.

And from Paris came the bold and daring pH Fragrances. This pioneering brand is redefining our understanding of clean beauty, having banned over 100 controversial ingredients from their formulations, pH fully committed to producing totally sustainable and ethically sourced perfumes filled with flair and Parisian joie de vivre. What’s more, pH is gaining considerable recognition for their ingenuity, most recently Magnolia and Pivoine de Soie was announced as a finalist in the French Fragrance Foundation Awards as one of the most innovative fragrances of 2020. This beautiful floral fragrance is an accord of magnolia and peony, infused with roses, honey and musk that is simply divine.

Last but not least, January 1st 2021 not only marks the first day of the new year, but it also is the release date of our latest explores box! January is all about celebrating and embracing the new year, immediately, the beautiful champagne accord of L’Attesa came to mind as the perfect way to see in the new year. We’ve also added in one of our all-time favourites, Rosendo Mateu’s Number 5 that’s pure feel-good factor. In the spirit of embracing the new, we’ve then added one of the latest’s releases from Perris Monte Carlo, Lavande Romaine, that’s fresh and invigorating like the crisp winter air. We’ve also included Sandalia’s Nixias and Ph Fragrances Magnolia and Peonie de Soie to introduce you to these incredible Houses. Last but not least, we’re also adding a little surprise, a sneak peek of a stunning heritage brand that’s launching on Perfume Playground very soon, so you’ll be the first in the know!
