Villa Primerose

In the origins of perfumery, the most beautiful flowers, such as rose, were used to hide the tenacious and animal smell of the leather gloves worn by aristocratic ladies. Atelier Des Ors reinterprets this rose-leather contrast of scents to create a singular duality between delicacy and power, masculine and feminine, past and future. The rose will no longer be there to hide but to reveal the leather. A woody leather-lined voluptuous rose with velvety, suede notes and the vibrancy of pink pepper. Grasse supplies 50 tonnes of the 90 tonnes produced worldwide of centifolia rose (also known as the hundred-leaved rose, rose de mai or rose pays). During the flowering season in May, 7-9kg of flowers are picked per hour. The infusion of rose centifoliatakes time…flower infusions are the vintages of perfumery.
